Trip to California

We took the kids to the Michael Jackson theater in Las Vegas for the ONE Cirque du soleil show.  AMAZING! (and by way, the word amazing is well overused but this truly was

The best show on earth!!!!!!!!!  During the Thriller song the zombies were coming from the ceiling and through the isles.  One jumped up right into Kurt's face!  I thought please don't cry please don't cry...then he started laughing his head off.  So memorable!

After the show in Vegas we went straight to visit my sister and her family in Tehachapi.  So fun to see them and enjoy their pool with them!

Lauren's Birthday Overnighter

When the kids turn 10 they get a night out with mom or dad (girl or boy depending).  Lauren chose to go to a hotel in Lake Oswego and spend our time shopping, seeing a movie (saw The Giver me for the 2nd time, love it as much as the book. so love it!), eating at Sweet Tomatoes and doing our nails.  So much fun!

Happy Birthday MJ

Recently went to Indiana with my Dad and Nicole and Nathan.  I was really hoping since it is Michael Jacksons home state there would be something...anything uniquely Michael in Indianapolis (as we couldn't travel to Gary to see the home he grew up in it being a little too far).  I had almost given up when Nicole asked if we could go to the Hard Rock Cafe in Indianapolis.  When we got there I asked if they had any MJ.  She showed us a whole room dedicated to the King of Pop.  Score!!!!

Baird Family Reunion 2014

The Journey

 Dave and I were able to be parents on the Stake Youth Conference again.  This year the theme was The Journey and we all wore biblical/scripture clothes....except Derek on occasion who would try to just wear his common man attire and get away with it.  The rest of us wore pillow cases and sheets all week.  We had a fabulous time and it was a huge testimony building experience for the youth!  Dave and I were parents over the GOLD family.  They named themselves the Celestial Warriors.  We had the best youth in our group!  We love them all!  Here are a few pictures from the week.
