One of my favorite girls...

One of my very favorite girls in the world got married in the Logan Temple a couple weeks ago. Hannah was in my Mia Maid group and now she's a beautiful bride. It was so fun to go to Logan with my sister Jandi who also had Hannah in Young Womens. This picture is of Jandi, me, Hannah Hutchison (now Fredricksen sp?) and Hannah Moore. Love these girls!
What a happy beginning to a new life together.

We also got to stop in Boise and stay with my sister Tess and husband in there new house! Such a fun weekend!

The Secret Garden

Nicole recently watched someone on youtube play the Secret garden theme song. After watching and practicing she figured it out on her own. This is one of my all time favorite movies ever. I love hearing her play it. Maybe someday I'll figure it out.

The Oregon Trail

Today Derek spent the whole day dressed as a pioneer on the Oregon Trail. The 2nd and 3rd grade classes have been studying and preparing for this day all year. The school had the whole day set up with covered wagons, a trail to follow around the grounds with stops along the way and a campfire at the end. They were grouped into families and have been keeping Oregon Trail journals for a month or so. It was so much fun. Kurt and I got to be there to help. At one point on the trail, the kindergarteners (Lauren's class) came running through like a stampede of buffalo. They had big masks on and they were running like mad. I was actually feeling like I was on Little House on the Prairie...one of my life long dreams:)

Texas...

Dave and I went to San Antonio Texas this last week for a work conference. It was really relaxing and there was lots of great food. I had never been to Texas so it was a first for me. We went to the Alamo which was right in the middle of San Antonio...I thought that was weird but amazing too, all those super old buildings mixed in with the big city. Thanks to Grandma Baird and Aunt Jandi, the kids were safe and happy at home. Some of the high lights from our trip...
Notice how I am saluting and that wood indian is shading his eyes...I am such a dork. Why would an indian be saluting!? I guess it's good I can laugh at myself and that Dave can laugh at me, while he's taking the picture!!!

Birthday boy

Kurt turned 2 yesterday. What a beautiful day outside. It was 65 degrees. One of those days where you remember that it's not always going to be wet and cold outside. I was craving springtime and all the beauty that comes with it. We went on our first stroller ride in a long time and brought Daisy along with. Then we ate lunch at McDonalds. Kurt is all about trucks right now. All vehicles are trucks...trains, vans, cars, motorcycles. According to Kurt, Dad has a truck (Honda Civic) and so do I (minivan). He even calls the movie Cars...Trucks.

Growing...

Derek came home from school the other day and I looked at his shoes. His toes were sticking out of a hole in the front. He literally grew out of his shoes at school. We went to the shoe store...

Sunrise Sunset

Nicole turned 12 a week ago. Everyday I love her more.
The words from one of my favorite musicals
Fiddler on the Roof comes to mind as I think about her growing older...
Is this the little girl I carried?
Is this the little girl at play?
I don't remember growing older.
When did she?
When did she get to be a beauty?
When did she grow to be so tall?
Wasn't it yesterday when she was small?
Sunrise, sunset
Sunrise, sunset
Swiftly flow the days.
Seedlings turn overnight to sunflowers,
Blossoming even as we gaze;
Sunrise, sunset
Sunrise, sunset
Swiftly fly the years.
One season following another
Laden with happiness and tears.

A very merry Christmas Eve

For Christmas Eve we went to Estacada to be with Grandma and Grandpa Baird and Brig and Ty's family. We had the traditional beef steak pie then did the nativity and read Candle in the Forest.

Seeing the Lights

We met Grandma and Grandpa Baird at the Colton lights.
Kurt loved the trains...really loved them!

Tyra and Brigham's kids were there for some cousin fun.

Nathan, Derek and cousin Lliam doing a little miniature golfing.
Three happy snowmen.
